Member Education

A committee formed to develop and maintain the Chapter's Educational Programs and special educational events.  Includes arranging for educational speakers, planning and organizing communication and announcements for events, etc.

Chair Description

 

Business Partners

A committee formed to develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with our Business Partners that serve Chapter Members.  Includes working with business partners that wish to sponsor or provide speakers, provide sponsorship of various Chapter activities, or advertise on the Chapter's web site.  Members may develop correspondence, survey business partners regarding services, or survey members about business partners.

Community Services

A committee formed to plan and implement community service activities that the Chapter will undertake from time to time.  Includes working annually with the ALA's Community Challenge Weekend.

Member Recruitment & Retention

A committee formed to develop programs to encourage new membership and retain existing members.  Includes development of orientation materials, mentoring program, special events, etc.

Bar Relations

A committee formed to maintain a strong working relationship with the local Bar Association and Educational Institution (UT).  Includes development of joint projects, CLE programs, enhancement of communications and other interaction with members of the Bar and UT faculty.  Coordinates monthly DICTA contribution (Knoxville Bar Association monthly publication) from Chapter members.

Chapter Web Site

A committee formed to develop and maintain the Chapter's web site on the Internet.  Includes maintenance of the web hosting relationship, development of content, including member roster information, and publication of all such material to the web.

Statewide Educational Retreat

A committee formed to assist in the planning of the annual educational retreat for all four Tennessee ALA Chapters, conducted each spring.  Duties for the Knoxville committee relate to the educational programming itself.  Those interested in speaking may contact the committee chair.
