Message from the President

The Knoxville Association of Legal Administrators (KALA) is a chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA), an organization founded in 1971 to promote and enhance the competence and professionalism of Legal  Administrators and all members of the management team.  This is an important and noteworthy mission; one that requires solid fundamental skills, an open exchange of ideas, and above all, people that are dedicated to the Law Office Members of the Knoxville ALA at the 2009 Annual Conference in New OrleansManagement profession.  It is an exciting time for the legal services industry.  We are immersed in the electronic information age, and we are eager to explore the virtually endless possibilities, meeting the challenges for the delivery of legal services in a technologically oriented world.

The KALA, first chartered in 1987,  actively supports the mission of the ALA.  Our 32 member chapter provides many opportunities for networking, continuing education and enhanced relationships within the legal and educational community here in Knoxville and across the nation.  The goals of the Chapter are to:

bullet

Promote professionalism of principal legal administrators and the entire law office management team.

bullet

Offer professional assistance to Chapter members.

bullet

Provide quality educational programs and opportunities.

bullet

Provide opportunities for professional growth and development.

bullet

Develop and promote a professional relationship with the Knoxville Bar Association and the UT Law School.

bullet

Provide a local resource for the exchange of information.

We are confident that this web site will provide you with valuable information related to law office management on a continuing and dynamic basis.  Consequently, we encourage your inquiries regarding our organization or legal management in general, and always welcome new qualified members.  Further membership information is provided here for those who may be interested in learning more about joining the ALA, and any of our Chapter Officers may be contacted directly via telephone or e-mail.
